Fortnite has a refund feature for those who make mistakes when purchasing or when the items that have been purchased are not as expected. There are two ways you are able to refund a skin or the other items. The first one is extremely limited and the second one has a very short time frame with which you are able to do it in.
For those who accidentally purchase a skin or the other cosmetics, you are able to cancel it as long as you stay on the cosmetic screen. Please do not leave the screen. You need to look for the button on the bottom right hand side of the screen, it should say Cancel Purchase. Please press that button and you will be refunded your V-Bucks.
There is a very limited time to cancel the purchase. It is under 5 minutes so if you are debating about keeping it or not, it is just safer to cancel it and think about it for a while.
The second method also has a limit of three times over the lifespan of your account. You might find the method of how to get more than three refunds in Fortnite somewhere else but please avoid it as it is not legal. If you try it, your Fortnite account might be at risk. If you do not want to put your Fortnite account at risk, please only use the chance to refund if you are really sure you do not want the cosmetic you purchased and you do not have access to the previously mentioned above. Another thing to take note is that you are only allowed to refund an item that has been purchased within the last 30 days.
If you want to refund, here are the steps:
- Go to Settings
You need to look for the hamburger menu or the three lines on top of each other or a gear. It will usually be located at the top right of your screen. Please hit the settings option in this menu.
- Click the person icon
You will be able to see an icon at the top of your settings page. Please click on that icon to access the Account Settings page.
- Submit a Request for a Refund
Look for a thing named Lifetime Refund Requests and you should see the amount of requests you have left with a button. Please press the Submit a Request button.
- Select the item that you want to refund
You will see all the cosmetics that are eligible to be refunded. Do not forget only ones that were purchased within the last 30 days are going to show up. Choose the one you want to refund and it will take you to the next step.
- List the reason why you want the refund
Pick the one that pertains to you. Accidental Purchase is the best option if you are for some reason worried they are going to reject your request.
- Submit the request
If you are sure, go ahead and choose the cosmetic and request the refund.
