Fortnite allows you to be able to do cross-platform play. It is the ability to permit different gaming platforms to share the same online servers in a game permitting players to join together regardless of the platform that they use. Have you tried it on Fortnite? If so, but then you see that it does not work, you need to make sure that you have done the things below.
Before you try this cross-platform play in Fortnite, you need to note that you are only able to play cross-platform with people that you are friends with on your Epic account. This is different to your PS4 or Xbox One friends list, so if you play on console, you have to make sure that you go to EpicGames.com and make an account. If you play on PC or mobile, you will already have one of them.
It means that you are not able to just hop into a mobile lobby as a PC player and destroy all of the opposition since it will not be fair because of the increased resolution, better controls, and many things. The player in your party at the top of the platform hierarchy is the lobby that you will matchmake into. Let’s take an example, if there is a mobile player, a PS4 player and a PC player in the same squad, you will all be playing against PC players.
Next, you must become friends with players that you want to play cross platform Fortnite with via your Epic account. In case you are on console, you need a PC or Mac to do this. You have to download the Epic Launcher, open it and log into your account. Then, you have to click the silhouette in the top right and enter your friend’s Epic email address or username and then do not forget to hit OK. You have to repeat this process until you have invited all your friends. If they accept your friend request, you are able to return to your system of choice. If you click the silhouette, you will be able to see all of your friends, highlight the name and choose ‘join party’ to be able to enter their lobby.
If you think that you have done all the things above, but then you see that it does not work, you are able to try to fix it. You are able to fix it by closing Fortnite and then launch it again. Or, you are able to restart your device. Then, see whether it is still not working or not.
If you see that it is still not working, then you are able to check to the Fortnite website or Twitter account whether there is a maintenance being held at that time or not. By accessing the Twitter account or website of Fortnite, you can also know whether it is a bug or not. Usually, if there is a bug, the Fortnite team may announce it there. If you have checked all things but you cannot find the answer, the last thing that you are able to do is to come to Fortnite forum or contact Epic Games.
