As the game called Fortnite Battle Royale continues to take over the world with its iconic locales and goofy characters, emotes, and cosmetics, just above everyone is attempting to find the way they are able to play the game for themselves.
With the game being an online-only multiplayer game, for those who are playing on PS4 or Xbox One, you will need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Gold subscription to play. Those things are not the cheapest, though. As the time of writing, you are able to purchase a subscription for Xbox Live Gold at $9.99 per month, at about $25 for three months or at $60 for a year.
This membership gives you the ability to play multiplayer games with your Xbox. Aside from that, you will also have the access to two to four games you are able to redeem per month at no extra charge. Each game is available as long as you maintain your Xbox Live Gold membership.
As stated before, Xbox Live Gold subscription is not the cheapest and so a few may be wondering if there is a way you are able to play the game without having an Xbox Live Gold subscription themselves. Actually, there is not a way you are able to play Fortnite without any Xbox Live Gold subscription, but there is a way to get access to a subscription without paying for it yourself. For those who have got a friend or family member who is willing to give you their account information such as address and password, or just sign in on your Xbox One, you are able to share their Xbox Live Gold subscription with you if they set your Xbox One as their home Xbox.
In order to do this, you need to press the Xbox button, and then go to System, Settings, Personalization, and then My Home. After that, select the Make this my home Xbox to confirm this. Do you think it is easy to be done?
Before you tell your friend or family member to do this, you have to probably fill them in on what doing this on your Xbox allows you to do, and what the other accounts on their Xbox One will no longer be able to do. Apparently, setting a console as your home Xbox allows you to share games, DLC, and your Xbox Live Gold subscription with anyone else that signs in on your console. As such, you will gain the access to each game they have purchased digitally, but no other accounts on their Xbox One will be able to.
You are able to change your home Xbox settings up to five times during any one-year period, so please take a note that if you are planning on switching it back and forth multiple times. Apart from using this home Xbox method, there is no way you are able to play the game called Fortnite without an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
