The developer wants you to enable it so that you are able to take part in the Fortnite Gifting System. Apparently, the new Gifting System is only around for a specific period of time and allows players to buy things for their friends from the Fortnite item shop. Currently, the only stuff that can be gifted is the one that is available in the shop, with a limit currently imposed on how many can be shared within a certain time frame.
By enabling Two Factor Authentication or 2FA, players are able to lose their password to a hacker and still have another line of defense before their account is breached.
